Hangzhou is located in the southeastern coastal area of China, in the north of Zhejiang Province, on the north bank of the lower reaches of the Qiantang River, and at the southern end of the Grand Canal from Beijing to Hangzhou.
It is a seaport visa city. In addition, it is also the best tourist destination approved by the National Tourism Administration and has enjoyed the reputation of "Paradise on Earth" since ancient times.
The city of Hangzhou's "paradise-like" beauty attracts thousands of tourists every year to its exquisite West Lake, where they enjoy its calm waters, beautiful gardens, reflecting pools, sumptuous temples and lakeside teahouses.
West Lake covers an area of about four square miles and is surrounded on three sides by rolling wooden hills. In the center are three small islands - Xiao Yingzhou, Zhonghu Pavilion and Ruan Guan Island. Lonely Mountain stands alone on the northern shore of the lake. The White Causeway can be reached from the city, and the Su Causeway bisects the lake in two from north to south. The rippling blue water is dotted with elegant stone bridges and charming pavilions. West Lake, like a shining pearl embedded in the vast land of China, enjoys a high reputation for its beautiful scenery, numerous historical monuments, splendid cultural relics and large amounts of local products.
The area around West Lake has many famous historical and cultural attractions. For example, there are Lingyin Temple and Liuhe Pagoda. Today its tourism industry has expanded from the West Lake area to another national scenic area of Fuchun River-Xin'an River Scenic Area, to Tianmu Mountain Nature Reserve, Mogan Mountain, the Grand Canal and the Qiantang River.
Hangzhou is also famous for silk and tea. A trip to Hangzhou can be combined with a visit to a tea plantation in the hills near West Lake. Since the Tang Dynasty, Hangzhou's silk products have spread all over the world. The same goes for elegant and fragrant high-quality Longjing tea (the end product of various teas). Silk umbrellas, Hangzhou fans, scissors, Chinese medicine, chrysanthemum tea, etc. are all local specialties.
In September 2015, Hangzhou won the 2022 Asian Games. This will be the third Chinese city to host the Asian Games after the 1990 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 Guangzhou Olympics. Hangzhou, an emerging technology hub and home to e-commerce giant Alibaba, also hosted the 11th G-20 summit in 2016. Hangzhou is also the lifelong host city of the World Leisure Expo, China International Cartoon and Animation Festival and China International Miniature Film Festival. It is a major exhibition city in China. Moreover, as "the city expands to the east and tourism develops to the west; Hangzhou develops along the river and develops across the river", Hangzhou is moving from the original "West Lake Era" to the "Qiantang River Era".
In China, Hangzhou is a highly recommended tourist destination. As the saying goes, there is heaven above and Suzhou and Hangzhou below - "Above heaven, below are Hangzhou and Suzhou."
